          Women's empowerment refers to giving women the power to make decisions for themselves. Women have endured a great deal at the hands of men over the years. They were viewed like they didn't exist in previous centuries. As if all rights, including the right to vote, belonged to men. Women became more aware of their power as time passed and the revolution for women's empowerment started there.

         


           Women's empowerment came as a breath of fresh air because they were not able to make choices for themselves. It made them aware of their rights and how to make their own path in society rather than relying on a man. It acknowledged that things do not always work in someone's favor solely because of their gender. There are different ways to empower women. Individuals and the government must work together to achieve this. Girls' education should be made compulsory so that they do not become illiterate and unable to support themselves. Women, regardless of gender, must be given equal opportunities in all fields. Furthermore, they must be paid equally. By abolishing child marriage, we will empower women. Various workshops should be held where they can learn how to care for themselves in the event of a financial emergency. A number of studies have shown that without women's empowerment and gender equality, sustainable development is unlikely. Women's empowerment, equality and unity are the needs of our society.

          Women's empowerment is a component of encouraging women to feel strong by telling them that they can do everything they want to do. Empowering women is to give women the right. Women are now achieving high-level positions in the same way as men do. Some women are appointed to positions such as president, mayor, commune head, and other high-ranking positions. And many women are now politically, educationally, and economically active members of society. Women can change the world for the betterment especially in difficult times.

Importance of taking part in NSED

              We all know, that Philippines is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Because of our location, we are prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions caused by the movement of tectonic plates. We conduct different programs and activities in preperation for an earthquake. One of these is the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). It is initiated by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense in an effort to "continuously instill to the public earthquake preparedness amid the pandemic."             Although we cannot be able to prevent natural earthquakes from occuring, we can lessen the effects by using early warning systems, building safer structures, providing education on earthquake safety and implementing plans to help recover in case of an earthquake.
