Education is the First Step

Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are dying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. It has become clear that humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. What will we do? What can we do to slow this human-caused warming? How will we cope with the changes we've already set into motion? While we struggle to figure it all out, the fate of the Earth as we know it—coasts, forests, farms, and snow-capped mountains hangs in the balance.

Climate change has already impacted ecosystems and humans. The warming of the earth’s surface is undermining our national food and energy security, and therefore requires broad and intensive information and educational campaign to impress on the general public the awesome and terrifying consequences of this phenomenon and to secure the collective cooperation of the population in finding solutions to it; and “These concerns require the urgent and thoughtful participation of our citizens as well as the collective action of private and public sectors at all levels.” Education is a great help for the global response to climate change. It helps us to understand and to know more about climate change. It will encourages us to change our behaviour and to adopt sustainable lifestyles. As a student, I can help create awareness by educating my non-environmentally informed friends about the the problems of climate change and the habits that they can change in their daily lives.

Amidst this global pandemic resulting to significant economic impact, we should not forget to protect and take good care of our Mother Earth. Now is the time to work together, in all aspect, in the urgent task of adapting for a sustainable future.
