National Women's Month 2021

The celebration is held on the month of March every year. The International Women's Day theme is, "Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”. It aims to feature inspirational stories and messages from women who managed to lead and thrive in our fight against the pandemic. The celebration also highlights women's accomplishments and to address ongoing and evolving women's empowerment and gender equality issues, concerns, challenges, and commitments.

This year's campaign differs from the previous ones due to the covid-19 pandemic which posed both challenges and opportunities for women. Hence, this years observance highlights women's contributions to the fight against the pandemic as well as discusses gender issues worsen by the pandemic. It is the time to delve deep into the gender issues that emerged or become more felt during the health crisis, feature women who thrived despite the circumstances, and share support systems and government programs that address women’s issues and concerns.

Let us think about how we can break down barriers and create bridges to promote greater education, better health, and career development for our women, as well as participation in political economic decision-making processes and stronger communities as we celebrate this month. Let's engage men and boys to collectively work together in accelerating gender equality and equity.
