Importance of taking part in NSED

              We all know, that Philippines is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Because of our location, we are prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions caused by the movement of tectonic plates. We conduct different programs and activities in preperation for an earthquake. One of these is the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). It is initiated by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense in an effort to "continuously instill to the public earthquake preparedness amid the pandemic."             Although we cannot be able to prevent natural earthquakes from occuring, we can lessen the effects by using early warning systems, building safer structures, providing education on earthquake safety and implementing plans to help recover in case of an earthquake. Covid-19's Impact on our Education

              Now, we are living through one of the greatest threats in our lifetime. Coronavirus disease or Covid-19 affected people regardless of nationality, level of education, income or gender. It also affected our education. As of March 28, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing more than 1.6 billion children and youth to be out of school in 161 countries. This is close to 80% of the worlds enrolled students.This pandemic has the potential to worsen the amount of children who cannot read and understand at the age of 10, if we do not act fast.             Losses in learning, increased dropout rates and children missing their most important meal of the day, these are some of the immediate impact of crisis on our children and youth.                          COVID-19 was characterized by World Health Organization as a pandemic, pointing to over 3 million cases and 207,973 deaths in 213 countries and territories. This virus is not only a global pandemic and public health crisis; it has also severely affected the global economy and financial markets.              Significant economic impact has already occurred across the globe due to reduced productivity, loss of life, business closures, trade disruption, and decimation of the tourism industry. So, the world needs now is a more robust, ethical and equitable social-ecological economy, specially our country. In order to do this, cooperation of filipino people and the government is a must.
